Since 1982 the GetAbout has provided transportation services to the residents of New Canaan. GetAbout currently provides more than 10,000 trips annually for residents of New Canaan, including delivery of more than 200 meals monthly for Meals on Wheels. We not only provide transportation to senior residents, we strive to meet the needs of all members of our community, 18 years or older, who are unable to drive, either temporarily or due to a long-term disability.

GetAbout is New Canaan’s only transportation service with seven wheel-chair accessible minivans ready to accommodate our client’s transportation needs.
Our drivers all have Public Passenger licenses. All drivers are insured and trained in the handling of non-ambulatory riders. The GetAbout provides safe, dependable, non-emergency transportation service eliminating the need for expensive commercial medical van services.
Our volunteer Board meets ten times a year and overseas all aspects of GetAbout’s operations.
