What are the fees for a ride?

GetAbout is a non-profit organization and does not charge fees for rides. However, there has been a traditional $5.00 per ride suggested voluntary contribution for non-medical rides.

Is GetAbout a membership organization?

GetAbout is not a membership organization. We offer rides to any New Canaan resident unable to drive themself permanently or due to a temporary condition.

What is GetAbout’s service area?

We offer rides for any purpose within New Canaan and for medical purposes to our surrounding towns of Stamford, Darien, Norwalk and Wilton.

Can the service area be expanded for a larger fee?

No, we are limited to the above service areas.

How are return rides timed?

Our dispatchers will schedule a return ride at the time of booking, so riders are not kept waiting unnecessarily.

What are the rules on non-medical rides?

Non-medical rides must be in New Canaan only.

Are there shared rides?

We welcome shared rides to improve our service to our riders and help use our fleet most efficiently.
