For 45 years, GetAbout has been more than just a ride — we’ve been a lifeline for New Canaan seniors and residents who, due to age, disability, or temporary circumstances, can’t drive themselves. We help our neighbors stay connected to the people, places, and services that matter most.

Thanks to your generosity, this year alone we’ll provide around 9,000 rides to more than 150 local residents — ensuring they make it to medical appointments, the grocery store, or a visit with a friend. We’ll also deliver 5,000 Meals-on-Wheels to homebound individuals who rely on that knock at the door not just for nutrition, but for a moment of human connection.

These are not just numbers. They represent real people — your neighbors — who are able to live more independently and with dignity because of you. Individual donations cover 70% of our annual budget helping us to maintain a fleet of 9 dependable vans, provide salaries for our team of professional drivers and meet rising fuel, maintenance, and insurance costs.  We don’t take shortcuts when it comes to safety or service. Every mile driven is done with care and compassion — because that’s what our community deserves.
